losing its majority in the assembly, the
unit said on Monday that the party would not stake a claim to form a government in the Union territory at this stage.
In a statement, Puducherry BJP state president
said the NDA, comprising the BJP and its allies All India NR Congress and AIADMK, would form the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the “blessings” of people after the forthcoming elections.
Saminathan said Puducherry needs a new era, new government, new culture of public service and new vision and leadership and “never again this type of government.”
“A culture of corruption and exploitation is the only thing that the Congress and the DMK have given, instead of development and helping people. People of Puducherry will teach them a lesson in the coming election,” he said.
He said people trusted the Congress party again and again and voted for it. “But instead of development and prosperity, people have suffered and always exploited by these corrupt dynasty parties,” he said.
He said that one of the worst chapters in Puducherry history had come to an end with the fall of the Narayanasamy government.
He said Puducherry BJP unit was looking forward to receiving Modi on February 25. He said the Centre had announced several schemes and projects like fishing hubs, textile parks and one nation-one ration card that would boost the growth of Puducherry.
