    PUNE: The Pune branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has bagged a total of four awards, including two at the national level and two at the regional level (Western India Regional Council – WIRC) for outstanding performance in 2020. ICAI’s Pune branch bagged the second prize at the national level for the best branch and best student (Western India Chartered Accountants Students-Development) branch, while at the regional level the first prize went to the Pune branch of ICAI.

    The awards were presented by Rajya Sabha MP CA Arun Singh and ICAI President CA Atul Kumar Gupta and former President CA Prafulla Chhajed at the recent annual function. ICAI Pune Branch President CA Abhishek Dhamne (2020-21), WICASA Pune President CA Sameer Ladda, Secretary-Treasurer CA Kashinath Pathare accepted all the four awards. ICAI Central Council Member CA Chandrasekhar Chitale, WIRC Chairman CA Lalit Bajaj, Treasurer CA Anand Jakhotia, Regional Council Member Yashwant Kasar were present on the occasion.

    Every year awards are given for the best branch as well as student branch from the national and regional offices of the organization. Among the national level branches, the Pune branch and the WICASA branch received the award working according to the eligibility criteria.


    CA Abhishek Dhamne said, “Throughout the year, ICAI Pune Branch has worked on the concept of ‘3I’ i.e. Image, Intellect and Infrastructure. The award is dedicated to all the members, students and hard working staff of ICAI Pune Branch.
